May 13, 2023

Once the official list of players (Roster) that will face the 2023 season of the Euorpean League of Football has been published, we go into detail to break down, by position, each member of the franchise, and thus give four details of his person. In this case, the Safeties.

Luke Glenna: one of the four North American ‘imports’. Born in Edina, Minnesota, the very young player grew up at Saint Thomas University, where he was from 2018 to 2022. In his freshman year, he had four interceptions, two touchdowns, 17 tackles and caused one fumble. In the last university course, he played absolutely everything; him racking up 68 tackles, six pass breakups and four interceptions for a total of 53 yards. In addition, the American was awarded as one of the best players in the league and was selected as National Defensive Player of the Week. Thanks to his great athletic abilities, he was also selected to the Associated Press All-American second team.

Lautaro Frecha: the benchmark in this position. Third year for the Argentine player who dazzled fans with his defensive plays throughout the second half of the 2021 campaign. Let’s remember that Frecha did not start his first natural season with the Dragons, but joined later, and since then, reinforced the defensive plot of the team considerably. Those with a more select memory will remember several important tackles from the first moment he debuted. Agility, anticipation and physical power in abundance are some of the player’s most notable characteristics.

Jorge Félix Velasco Velo: second year in Dragons, Félix Velasco started playing in 2014 with Camioneros of Coslada, in the Linebacker position. Six years later he left for the Madrid neighbors Las Rozas Black Demons, where he was the team’s internal MVP of the season. He is a proven player who has also worn the Spanish team shirt since 2016. Last season he signed for the Barcelona Dragons, where he changed positions. That course he made a total of 32 tackles and one interception.

Hugo Mínguez Bravo: he started playing for Las Rozas Black Demons in 2014 and until now he has always belonged to the same club, with which he won three consecutive national titles in his Junior stage. In 2018 he made his debut with Team Spain Júnior and was part of the team in the European U19 tournament in Bologna. He later went up to the Black Demons Senior and participated in all the finals they have played. Finally, this year, they got the long-awaited title. Now, with the Barcelona Dragons, he will share new colors with old teammates and eternal rivals.

Brayan Colomé: young Safety who has been playing this sport for seven years. He comes from L’Hospitalet Pioners, a club in which, at the age of 16, he was already a starter in the Senior first team, winning a Serie B in the first year and playing in the A series, the latter two being the captain. He has also worn the Team Spain U19 shirt, being, in 2022, the captain of that squad. Fact that also allowed him to debut with the absolute that same year. Now, the man from Barcelona will be part of the Barcelona Dragons Practice Squad.
