May 30, 2023

Once the official list of players (Roster) that will face the 2023 season of the Euorpean League of Football has been published, we go into detail to break down, by position, each member of the franchise, and thus give four details about him. In this case, the Defensive Tackles.

Benjamin Egbudiwe: The ‘Uppsala giant’ played during the 2019 season with the Helsinki Wolverines, recording 42.5 tackles, 2.5 sacks and one fumble recovery. The following year, he helped the Finnish team reach the Maple Bowl. He finished the season playing in seven games, including the playoffs and the championship, recording 8 solo tackles, 23 assisted tackles, and 3.5 sacks. But Egbudiwe’s career travels through teams from different Scandinavian countries, such as the Stockholm Mean Machines, with whom they were runners-up in Sweden, or the Kristiansand Gladiators in the Norwegian league, with whom, again, they took runner-up. In addition, he also had an adventure in college football in the United States, first with the City College of San Francisco and then with the Benedictine College Ravens (NAIA) in Atchison, Kansas.

Daniel Franco: Dani’s second year in the team, and he is already a leader, not only in the DL but also at the group level. He started playing at the age of 8 for the Badalona Dracs, where he has played for more than 20 years. Franco lived that hegemony of the Catalan team, winning practically everything at the national level. In addition, he also has experience at the European level. A year before signing with the Barcelona Dragons, he played a season with Barberà Rookies, standing out especially in the game against Dracs, making 3 sacks and 2 TFL.

Daniel López: Forcefulness is a trick that López masters very well. From a very young age he began to stand out, winning the Junior LNFA (National Football League) twice and being called up to Team Spain U19 as a result. Now, at 24 years old, the player from Las Rozas Black Demons has just had an excellent season with the Madrid team.

Sebastian Bowen Morales: 23-year-old player who has been playing American football for a decade. It all started when he played for Terrassa Reds, a team that, according to Bowen himself, “taught me the sport that I love today”. He remained in the Egarense club until 2019, where he went to Barberà Rookies, in which he spent three seasons. Finally, the previous season he traveled to Mallorca to wear the Voltors shirt. Currently the statistics with Dragons in the European League of Football are 26 solo tackles in these two years that he has been with the Catalan entity.

Rodrigo Sanz: he began his journey in the world of American football in 2016, with Osos de Rivas. Club to which he has belonged for six years. However, due to an injury, he spent a year inactive and returned to the Madrid team stronger than ever in 2020, now as a Senior. In the 2022 season, they won the Spanish Cup and the Spanish Serie A with a total of 13-0, being the best defense in terms of points received. This year, he’s also been the defense with the fewest points scored against. Individually, Sanz managed to be the second player with the most sacks (4.5) in the league.
