The British player joins the Catalan franchise in this final stretch of the European League of Football to strengthen the team’s offensive line.
Max Charnley Collins (OL) started playing American football not so long ago, in 2019, in his hometown team, the Liverpool John Moores Fury (LJMU Fury). From the beginning, the 1.9-meter athlete convinced the team: he was named Rookie of the Year in his first season with the English team. On his third season, he received the Most Valuable Player award on 21/22. In addition, that same year, he received another award as part of the GB Students All-Star 2022.
In a short time, Collins has earned the recognition of an entire country. A remarkable success for an offensive lineman, since they are normally the ones in charge of the least noticed work, but they are nonetheless key to the team’s triumphs. That same 2022, the Briton crossed the Atlantic to play in the Canadian Junior Football League as a central part of the most successful running offense in the league. In addition, he has also played for the Dresden Monarchs and the Merseyside Nighthawks in previous seasons.
“I’m very excited to join such a prestigious organization as the Barcelona Dragons. I want to be successful for the rest of the season and I am looking forward to testing myself against some of the best talents in Europe”, said Max in his official presentation.
