JOSH JOHNSTON SIGNS FOR THE BARCELONA DRAGONS

May 20, 2023

Josh Johnston is a new Barcelona Dragons player to face the third season of the European League of Football.

The Wide Receiver (WR) will be the team’s fourth American import after the departure of Austin Duke. Johnston is coming from the NCAA Division II Colorado School of Mines Athletics, where he has become a storied icon of the team. In 2019 he was already the team’s leading receiver, and a year later, he co-captained the franchise with some brutal numbers.

In 2022 he had a dream season: selected to the All-American Second Team, awarded the Mines’ Iron Digger Award, and racked up 77 passes for 1,373 yards and 13 touchdowns. In three games, he completed more than 100 yards and in ten, more than 75. He finished his prolific career with the Colorado Mines ranking fourth in receiving yards (2,939) and second in touchdowns scored (40) in franchise history.

Also, to make matters worse, the American has been an All American Wideout and, this 2023, an NFL Draft Prospect, participating in the Denver Broncos Training Camp.
