Hugo Dyrendhal (Stockholm, Sweden. 1998) joins the Barcelona Dragons project, thus being the franchise’s first signing for the 2023 season.

The Swedish Linebacker (LB) will play for the first time in the European League of Football with the Catalan entity. However, Dyrendhal has previous experiences: in 2020 he participated in the CFL Global Combine and a year later he played with the Ancona Dolphins of the Italian league.

In 2022, he changed the country of the boot to go to the biggest competition in Austria, the AFL (Austrian Football League), wearing the Telfs Patriots shirt. That same year, he was congratulated with the 2022 AFL Defensive Player of the Year award.

“I could not be more excited about signing with the Dragons. Been talking with friends and family how that is the dream destination. I will give my everything for this team”, declared after learning of his signing. In addition, international with Sweden, confirmed that “what characterizes me as a player is my versatility. I love football that much, I just want to play my heart out every opportunity I get. It doesn’t matter where you put me, I will do everything to become the best at that position“.
